The London Diaries Tour, designed for our guests who wish to explore London, the capital of England; visit Oxford, one of the world’s most established university cities; and closely experience British royal culture, offers the opportunity to experience both the classic and modern sides of the city together. On the first day of our tour, while discovering iconic landmarks of London such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Hyde Park, and Trafalgar Square in a panoramic way, you begin to feel the city’s historical and cultural atmosphere from the very first moment. In the evening, guests who wish may enjoy the vibrant districts of Soho and Chinatown, taking in different cultures, flavors, and the colorful city life of London. One of the most special parts of our program is the Grand London City Tour, where we closely explore both the historical and modern sides of London. With guided commentary, we visit some of the city’s most important landmarks, including St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Borough Market, the Westminster area, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and Covent Garden. Oxford, regarded as England’s academic capital, is another major highlight of the tour. The excursion, carried out among the historic buildings of the world-famous University of Oxford, Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library, and Christ Church College, offers the chance to closely experience British educational culture. Afterwards, a pleasant shopping opportunity awaits our guests at Bicester Village, one of England’s most popular outlet shopping centers, where advantageous shopping from world-renowned brands is possible. On the final day of our tour, there is an opportunity to visit the historic town of Windsor, home to Windsor Castle, one of the most important residences of the British Royal Family. This elegant town on the banks of the River Thames, with its historical texture, stylish cafés, and peaceful atmosphere, hosts one of the most enjoyable moments of the London journey. The weather is mostly mild, but short periods of rain can occur. Heavy winter clothing is not needed; however, it is recommended to bring a light coat, cardigan, or windbreaker. Since the itinerary is walking-heavy, choosing comfortable shoes and being prepared for changing weather conditions will improve your travel comfort.
Tour Program
1. DAY: ISTANBUL - LONDON (SOHO & CHINATOWN EVENING TOUR)
On the first day of our tour, we depart from Istanbul Airport on Turkish Airlines’ scheduled flight at 08:05 in the morning. After approximately a 4-hour journey, we land at London Gatwick Airport at 07:55 local time. After passport and baggage procedures, we begin exploring London directly. During our panoramic city tour, we see many important landmarks from the outside with our guide’s commentary, including Buckingham Palace, one of England’s most iconic structures, Hyde Park, famous for its lush greenery, and Big Ben, one of the country’s symbolic landmarks. We take a short break at Trafalgar Square to rest a little and have something to eat. After the city tour, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. In the evening, for those who wish, we will offer an optional Soho & Chinatown Evening Tour. (45£) On this tour, you will experience London’s most vibrant, colorful, and delicious evening atmosphere. Departing from our hotel in the late afternoon, we head toward the Soho & Chinatown area, the heart of London’s nightlife. After a short and comfortable journey by public transport, we begin exploring this special district, which takes on a completely different atmosphere from the daytime. One of London’s most energetic areas, Soho, truly comes alive in the evening. Lights, crowds, music, and movement… The moment you arrive here, you clearly feel why London is one of the world’s most important cities. We begin our walk through Soho’s characteristic streets. In this area, filled with small theaters, live music venues, boutique bars, and restaurants, you encounter a different atmosphere at every step. As we listen to the history of the area with our guide, we also witness the real life of London beyond its classic tourist face. Continuing our walk, we move on to Chinatown, one of London’s most striking districts. Red lantern-adorned streets, restaurants offering the finest examples of Asian cuisine, and a completely different cultural atmosphere… The moment you step here, you may feel as if you’ve left London entirely. At the end of our tour, we transfer back to our hotel and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: London (Grand London City Tour)
After breakfast, guests who wish may join us for a full-day optional **Great London Tour (£140)**. We begin our full and enriching tour, where we will explore both the historical and modern faces of London. Our first stop is the City of London, known as the financial center of London. With roots dating back to Roman times, this area has managed to preserve its historical character despite being surrounded by skyscrapers today. We begin our walking tour with St. Paul’s Cathedral, one of the oldest and most important religious buildings in the city. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren, this impressive cathedral is one of the most iconic landmarks of London, especially with its enormous dome. During the continuation of our tour, we make a panoramic visit to the Tower of London, one of London’s symbols. Built in the 11th century, this structure has been used throughout history as a palace, prison, and treasury. Right next to it, we stop for a photo at Tower Bridge, which has become one of the symbols of modern London. We complete the first half of the day with a lunch break at Borough Market, one of the most popular street food stops in London, as we continue our City tour. After completing our City of London tour, we head to the City of Westminster, the political and royal center of London. Our first stop here is Buckingham Palace, one of the most important symbols of the British monarchy. Later in the tour, we will see the Palace of Westminster, considered the political heart of England, and the nearby Big Ben. During our walking tour, we also view Westminster Abbey panoramically. This historic building, where royal coronation ceremonies are held, is one of the most significant landmarks in English history. In the final part of the tour, we will have free time at Covent Garden, one of London’s liveliest squares. Guests may explore the surrounding shops, spend time in cafés, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of the city. After meeting at the designated time, we return to our hotel and the tour comes to an end.
Day 3: Oxford & Bicester Village Outlet Tour
After breakfast, guests who wish to join the full-day extra Oxford & Bicester Village tour (£140) depart from the hotel. Our first stop is Oxford, one of England’s most established academic cities. During the walking tour conducted with our guide, we will see the city’s iconic landmarks from the outside, including the Radcliffe Camera, the Bodleian Library, one of the oldest libraries in the world, the elegant St Mary the Virgin Church, and Christ Church College, which also served as a filming location for the Harry Potter movies. With pleasant walks through this historic atmosphere, you can enjoy Oxford’s enchanting ambiance. After the guide’s commentary, there will be a short free period during which guests may also explore the city independently if they wish. Following our visit to Oxford, we continue with approximately a 30-minute journey to Bicester Village Outlet, one of England’s most popular shopping destinations. Here, you will have the opportunity to shop and spend time in boutiques offering products from world-famous luxury brands at outlet prices. The spacious open-air shopping area provides a very enjoyable environment for both shopping and relaxation. At the end of the day, we return to London with shopping bags and wonderful memories. Overnight at our hotel.
Day 4: London (Windsor Tour) → Istanbul
After breakfast at the hotel, we complete our check-out procedures. For those who wish, there will be an optional Windsor Tour in the morning. (35£) After breakfast at the hotel, we vacate our rooms and begin our last day in London. On this special day, unlike London city center, we head to Windsor, one of England’s most elegant and historic towns. After a short journey, we arrive in Windsor and begin our walking tour. Located on the banks of the River Thames, this charming town is one of England’s most impressive places, with both its natural beauty and historical character. During our tour, we see Windsor Castle panoramically, one of the largest royal palaces still in active use in the world. This magnificent structure, one of the official residences of the British Royal Family, is one of the most important symbols of English history. As we walk along the town’s cobbled streets, we enjoy pleasant moments amid small boutique shops, cafés, and the traditional English atmosphere. During the free time provided, our guests may shop, take a walk by the river, or spend time in stylish cafés. This calm and elegant atmosphere will be one of the most enjoyable and relaxing moments of the tour after London’s busy pace. At the appointed time, we gather and then head to the airport. We return to Istanbul at 17:35 with Turkish Airlines. Upon our arrival at Istanbul Airport at 23:30, our tour comes to an end. We hope to see you on your next journey!
